FAQ

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ALENTI “BIB”

What is a “Bib”?

A "Bib," or Bag-in-box, is a practical container consisting of a flexible, airtight food pouch (Bisphenol A-free) placed inside a cardboard box. It's a modern and eco-friendly solution for preserving wine longer after opening (up to 6 weeks), while also making it easier to serve.

What is the capacity of the Alenti Bib?

We offer a single 3-litre format, the equivalent of 4 classic 75cl bottles.

Does the wine in the BIB have an expiration date?

Before opening, a Bib can be stored for between 9 and 12 months , away from heat and light.
The Bib is intended to be enjoyed within a few months of purchase—if you have dinner parties planned, this is a great option! It is not intended for cellar aging.

How long does wine keep after opening?

Thanks to the Bib's vacuum system, the wine can be kept for up to 6 weeks after opening, without altering the taste or oxidizing.
The airtight pouch and the tap prevent oxygen exchange, thus protecting the wine inside. Exposure to oxygen is responsible for the loss of wine's freshness and its aromatic alteration – which is why a classic bottle opened and left in the fridge often ends up in the sink after 48 hours…

Why prefer wine in Bib rather than in bottles?

Because it's more environmentally friendly – no glass, less waste, optimized transport – more economical – excellent value for money – and more practical – keeps for 6 weeks after opening, easy to serve, ideal for aperitifs, dinners or events.

Isn't bottled wine better?

No. The container has nothing to do with quality . A good wine is still a good wine, whether it's bottled or in a Bib. The Bib's airtight pouch doesn't affect the wine's taste in any way and, moreover, allows it to be kept much better after opening.

Can I take my Bib on vacation or on a picnic?

Absolutely! It's actually one of the Bib's biggest advantages : it's sturdy, lightweight, break-proof, and easy to serve outdoors. It's perfect for barbecues, picnics, weekend getaways, or extended stays.

Is the Bib really sustainable?

Yes! Compared to glass bottles, the Bib generates up to 8 times less CO₂ , and consumes much less water and energy to produce. It is one of the most sustainable formats for wine, especially in short supply chains.

Why were Bibs called “Boxed Wines” in the past, and associated with poor quality wines?

The “Boxed Wines” can be considered the ancestor of the Bib, and in the past, average or even mediocre wines were offered in them. The bags used were lined with aluminum, which made them prone to small cracks, which led to rapid oxidation of the wine, making it undrinkable. As a result, winemakers were reluctant to put their best wine in “Boxed Wines,” hence a certain stigmatization of the “Boxed Wine.”
Today, technology has advanced considerably thanks to the use of new, complex polymer materials. It is now possible to bottle high-end wines in Bibs and preserve their qualities – exactly what Alenti does!

ALENTI WINES

What types of wines do you offer in Bib?

Our selection consists of a single wine in each of three colors: a fruity and balanced red , a delicious rosé , and a dry and aromatic white . We simplify your wine selection by offering you the best our team has ever created!

Is Alenti wine really good quality?

Absolutely. Our Bibs feature premium wines, carefully selected by our team. We're fortunate to have worked in the wine industry for many years and know the best winemakers. We use our network and knowledge to create the wines we want, freeing ourselves from the constraints of geography, grape varieties, and even vintages.

Where do Alenti wines come from?

Alenti wines, available in all three colors, come from France. They are the result of complex blends to offer you delicious, balanced flavor profiles that are enjoyable to drink in all circumstances.

What do you mean by “zero added sugar”?

Grape juice contains the sugar (fructose) needed for fermentation and its conversion into alcohol. This is the whole point of fermentation. We let the yeast consume the natural sugars. We don't add sugar because our wines don't need it.

Should I put the Alenti Bib in the refrigerator?

For white and rosé wine , yes, it is recommended. You can store the Bib directly in the fridge if you have the space. But you can also keep them outside the fridge and only place them there a few hours before tasting. Red wine should be kept at room temperature, ideally between 14 and 18°C.

Do Alenti wines contain sulfites?

Yes. However, our wines contain very little of it. We work with our winemakers to use only the bare minimum—just enough to ensure consistent quality, glass after glass.
It is important to note that all wines contain sulfites , which are naturally present in the skin of the grape.
