Our Wines in BIB

Alenti

Our Story

We are five friends, travelers, and lovers of fine wine. Around the world, we kept hearing the same thing: French wine can be intimidating. Too many codes, too many rules, not enough enjoyment. We also noticed a growing desire: to consume wisely, with less waste and more simplicity.

And let’s be honest — the heavy, fragile glass bottle no longer fits our lifestyles. Through conversations with winemakers, we realized that wine mostly speaks for itself… never for you.

So, we decided to change that. Alentí was born to put pleasure back at the center. A wine that understands you, simplifies, and liberates. A premium French wine, designed for today.

FAQ

What is a “Bib”?

A “Bib,” or Bag-in-Box, is a convenient packaging format consisting of a flexible, airtight food-grade bag (BPA-free) placed inside a cardboard box. It’s a modern and eco-friendly solution for keeping wine fresh longer after opening (up to 6 weeks), while making serving easier.

Does wine in a Bib have an expiration date?

Before opening, a Bib can be stored for 9 to 12 months, protected from heat and light.
The Bib is meant to be enjoyed within a few months of purchase – perfect for dinners or casual gatherings! It is not intended for long-term cellar aging.

Why choose wine in a Bib instead of bottles?
  • More eco-friendly: No glass, less waste, optimized transport
  • More economical: Excellent value for money
  • More practical: Keeps for up to 6 weeks after opening, easy to serve, ideal for aperitifs, dinners, or events
Is bottled wine not better?

No. The container doesn’t determine quality. A good wine remains a good wine, whether in a bottle or a Bib. The airtight bag in the Bib does not affect the taste and even allows better preservation after opening.

Why were Bibs formerly called “Cubi” and associated with lower-quality wines?

The “cubi” can be seen as the predecessor of the Bib, and it used to contain average or even poor-quality wines. The bags were lined with aluminum, which could develop small cracks, causing rapid oxidation that made the wine undrinkable. Winemakers therefore avoided putting their best wines in a “cubi,” leading to a certain stigma.

Today, technology has greatly advanced with new complex polymer materials. It is now possible to put high-end wines in a Bib and preserve their quality – exactly what Alenti does!

How long does wine last after opening?

Thanks to the Bib’s vacuum system, wine can stay fresh for up to 6 weeks after opening without any change in taste or oxidation.

The airtight bag and tap prevent oxygen exposure, protecting the wine inside. Oxygen is what causes wine to lose freshness and aromatic quality – which is why a regular opened bottle often ends up in the sink after just 48 hours…
